Pointer Promise Push program gives potential students perspective
For the City Times
STEVENS POINT – The Pointer Promise Push program, dedicated to growing the UW-Stevens Point family, is aimed at students entering the university in the fall of 2022.
“Refer that student to the university during the month of June and you are eligible to win prizes – and your referred student may be eligible for a $500 scholarship,” a UWSP release stated.
“Anyone, including alumni, current students, community members, parents and friends, is eligible to make student referrals. Prizes vary, including alumni socks, UWSP merchandise such as socks, mugs, T-shirts, 125th anniversary “Yearsbook” and a grand prize.”
Prizes will be awarded and announced in July.
Pointer Promise $500 scholarships will be awarded to those referred students who apply during August, are accepted and attend UW-Stevens Point in the fall of 2022 as first-year students. The scholarships are available on a first-come, first-serve basis and are not guaranteed to all students. Potential students are encouraged to apply as early in August as possible while the scholarship funds are available.
Students who want to see if UW-Stevens Point is a good fit are encouraged to visit this summer. Individual family and small group visits are available weekdays, Saturdays and by appointment at www.uwsp.edu/visit.
Refer students’ name and email using a form at https://give.uwsp.edu/pointer-promise-push. Each form earns one entry into the prize drawings.
