City band to feature pet parade

STEVENS POINT – The Stevens Point City Band, under the direction of Kathryn Kawleski, will present its fifth concert of the summer season on Wednesday, July 7 at 7:00 PM in the Pfiffner Pioneer Park band shell.
“An Animal Adventure” will be the theme as the band plays a variety of animal-inspired music, including “Birdland,” “Alley Cat,” “Mancini Magic,” “Suite from Man of La Mancha,” “Polka Party,” “Instant Swing Concert” and “The Lion King Soundtrack Highlights.” Audience members are invited to bring along their leashed pets and join in the twenty-third annual Pet Parade, marching to both “The Lamb’s March” by Sousa and “March of the Chinchillas.”
Concerts are free and held Wednesday evenings through Aug. 4. Audience members should bring chairs or blankets for seating.
