Stevens Point Noon Optimist Club announces scholarship winners

STEVENS POINT — The Stevens Point Noon Optimist Club is pleased to announce the three recipients of its annual scholarship program.

Recipients are Johnathon Ballinger, son of Michael and Cindy Ballinger from Amherst Junction attending UW-Stout; Alyssa Kirsling, daughter of Jon and Tammy Kirsling of Amherst attending UW-Stevens Point; and Jenna Stolt, daughter of Marc and Heidi Stolt from Plover attending UW-Madison.

Each received a $1,000 scholarship. The scholarships, administered by the Stevens Point Noon Optimist Club have been awarded since 2000 to worthy graduating high school seniors of Portage County.

The Stevens Point Noon Optimist Club was chartered on May 17, 1961, and has been in continuous service to our local community and youth since that time. The club is committed to the Optimist Mission Statement “By providing hope and positive vision, Optimists bring out the best in youth, our communities, and ourselves.” For more information about becoming part of a dedicated and diverse membership, please feel free to message the club on Facebook.
