One dead in Stevens Point car crash

On july 29 at 1:49 a.m., UW Stevens Point Police came across a single car crash off the roadway by the intersection of Stanley St. and Fremont St. The vehicle struck a concrete wall in front of the University Chemistry-Biology building.

A 48 year old male driver and sole occupant, struck the concrete wall at a high rate of speed, and was unconscious when officers located him. Stevens Point Fire Dept. performed life saving measures and the male succumbed to his injuries shortly after arriving at St. Michael’s Hospital.

The investigation was conducted by the Stevens Point Police Department with the assistance of UW Police Department and the Stevens Point Fire Department.
