Celebrate Plover draws large crowd

VILLAGE OF PLOVER – Celebrate Plover returned after a cancellation last year due to COVID-19.
Village Administrator Dan Mahoney said that the number of attendees before the 2 p.m. rain storms were significantly higher than 2019’s event.
“Overall, we were very pleased with the attendance,” Mahoney said. “We added additional children’s activities, had over 60 craft vendors, and had more than 25 Outdoor Expo participants that hosted activities at their booth that folks really enjoyed. All the food vendors were a big hit and people like the variety. The music was great, and the fireworks were the star of the day.”
“Celebrate Plvoer” t-shirts were even on sale during the event, taking a fun jab at the recent water tower misspelling that occurred in the village earlier this summer.
Village staff were pleased with this year’s turnout, and are already looking ahead and planning for next year’s celebration.
“We are already talking about new ideas for 2022. We can’t wait for Celebrate Plover next year,” Mahoney said.
