Update: Ongoing incident in the 2500 block of Water Street

PORTAGE COUNTY – At 8:20 a.m. on Aug. 31 there was a report of a catalitic converter theft in progress in the town of Plover.  A vehicle pursuit ensued and the vehicle crashed into a house on Prairie Street and the suspect fled on foot. The suspect was located in a residence in the 2500 block of Water Street. The suspect has barricaded himself on the rooftop and is suicidal. The Stevens Point Police Department is continuing to work to de-escalate the situation and end it peacefully.
