For the Gazette
STEVENS POINT – On Oct. 29 from 5:00-6:30 p.m. the Boys & Girls Club of Portage County is hosting a Trunk-or-Treat event at their Plover Center (2401 Cedar Dr.) to celebrate their afterschool programs for this year’s Lights on Afterschool.

Lights on Afterschool is a nationwide event that calls attention to the importance of afterschool programs and the resources required to keep the lights on and the doors open after school. This year, the Boys & Girls Club has decided to bring this event outside as a Trunk-or-Treat to highlight the programs offered as well as their amazing community partners.

The Club is inviting Club members and children in the community to participate in the Trunk-or-Treat event. Community partners such as Hot 96.7, Stevens Point Kiwanis, Plover Fire Department, Five Rings Martial Arts, Big Brothers, Big Sisters, and more will have decorated trunks and individually wrapped candy for all to enjoy.

If you are interested in participating, please RSVP by Oct. 27 via the Boys & Girls Club Facebook event https://fb.me/e/2IGEEO3lm. For questions, please contact the Boys & Girls Club of Portage County at 715-341-4386 or [email protected].
