Cross country women third, men eighth at the Rumble

OBERLIN, OH – The UW-Stevens Point cross country teams had a strong showing at the 2021 Inter-Regional Rumble on Oct. 16. The women’s team finished in third place behind a top-10 finish by Rachel Krouse (Milwaukee). The men’s team finished in eighth place.
Krouse was the first to cross the line for the Pointers seventh overall with a time of 22:28.9. Coming in after Krouse was Katie Schaefer (Lombard) taking 11th with a finish at 22:49.3. Catie Gage (Janesville) came in 21st with a time of 23:12.7. Paige Allemann (Waumandee) followed behind in 34th place with a time of 23:27.2. Rounding out the top five-point scorers for the Pointers was Ani Oxborough (Muskego in 76th place with a time of 24:13.8. Thirty-three teams and 305 racers participated in the women’s meet.
For the men’s meet, Nolan Richey (Kimberly crossed the finish line in 23rd place with a time of 26:13.5. The next runner to cross the line for the men’s team was Michael Kluz (Oconomowoc) in 32nd place with a time of 26:26.4. Next, in 49th place was Adam Tess (Sun Prairie) with a time of 26:56.6. Finishing off the top five finishers was Logan Lutz (Greendale, Wis./Greendale) and Braedon Gilles (Middleton) placing 62nd and 70th with times of 27:11.8 and 27:19.2. Thirty-five teams and 308 races participated in the men’s meet.
