Holiday Parade brings joy and festive fun to Main Street

STEVENS POINT – This year’s Holiday Parade returned to downtown Stevens Point, filling Main Street with the glinting lights and joys of the holiday season.
Guests surrounded the roadway on Nov. 17 to catch a sight of Santa and Mrs. Claus, along with dozens of parade floats and performances.
This year’s parade took place on a Wednesday, rather than a Friday as usual. The change was to allow guests to continue their weekend plans without interfering, offering more locals a chance to join in on the holiday cheer.
“The change was made to give people who may be out of town or busy on the weekends a chance to see everything,” said Stevens Point Mayor Mike Wiza.
Wiza also walked Main Street during the parade, greeting the public and wishing them a happy holiday season.
