Public meeting for CTH Z reconditioning project

PORTAGE COUNTY – The Portage County Highway Department is announcing a public information meeting to discuss the proposed 2022 CTH Z Roadway Improvement Project from N Edgewood Road to CTH A in the Towns of Sharon and New Hope, Portage County. The project will consist of reconditioning CTH Z to improve the pavement structure and drainage along the project. Ditch slopes will be upgraded to meet current design standards and the deteriorated asphalt surface will be replaced. Roadway and driveway culverts will be replaced as well as the structure crossing the Tomorrow River. This project is scheduled for construction in 2022 as part of the Highway Department’s five-Year Capital Improvement Plan.
The meeting will be an open-house format from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., with a brief presentation at 6:15 p.m. on Jan. 11 at the Portage County Highway Department, 800 Plover Road, Plover. The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, provide input, and ask questions concerning this project. Maps showing the proposed improvement concepts will be on display. The Portage County Highway Department and the project design firm, Gremmer & Associates, Inc., will have representatives available to discuss the project on an individual basis.
In addition, the project will require real estate acquisition along the corridor. CORRE, Inc. will be assisting the County in the real estate acquisition process and will have representatives available to answer any real estate related questions.
