Powerful Tools for Caregivers Class hosted at ADRC
For the City Times
STEVENS POINT – Powerful Tools for Caregivers is an educational series designed to provide caregivers with the tools they need to take care of themselves. This program will help family caregivers learn strategies to reduce stress, improve self-confidence, better communicate feelings, balance their lives, increase ability to make tough decisions and locate helpful resources.
Classes will consist of six, ninety-minute sessions held once a week on March 17 – April 21, from 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Attendance at each session is strongly encouraged as content builds on previous classes. Two experienced class leaders will conduct the sessions. Interactive lessons, discussions and brainstorming will help caregivers take the “tools” they choose and put them into action for their lives.
Classes will be held at the Aging & Disability Resource Center (ADRC), 1519 Water St., Stevens Point. There is a suggested donation of $30 for course materials. The donation may be made at any time. Class size is limited, and pre-registration is required. For more information or to register, contact the ADRC at 715-346-1401 or toll- free 1-866-920-2525.
