Mission Accomplished:Boys & Girls Club raises $40,000

For the City Times
STEVENS POINT – On Jan. 28, the Boys & Girls Club of Portage County and the Stevens Point Area YMCA hosted their 20th Annual “Passport to Paradise” fundraising event presented by Sentry. Over 125 people attended this year’s virtual event Catch Meme If You Can, a family-friendly escape room and scavenger hunt.
As a hacker was discovered stealing people’s embarrassing photos and turning them into memes, families raced against the clock to solve puzzles, find clues, and escape before becoming the next meme-victim. Attendees also received a special Escape Room Grab ‘n’ Go Kit, which included two Portesi Pizzas, Point Root Beer, a Tactical Escape 101 coupon, blacklight pens, mystery notepads, mustaches, magnifying glasses, and more.
Participants were also encouraged to share a picture of their families playing the game or enjoying the goodie bag for a chance to win a $200
Gift Certificate provided by Tactical Escape 101 in Stevens Point. The winner was announced after the event on social media.
All proceeds from this fundraiser help youth at the Stevens Point Area YMCA and the Boys & Girls Club of Portage County reach their full potential. Thanks to generous event sponsors and attendees including Sentry, NRG Media, WSAW-TV Channel 7, Marshfield Clinic Health
System, and Len Dudas Motors, over $40,000 was raised to continue providing programs for most in Portage County.
