For the City Times
STEVENS POINT – Stevens Point Area YMCA Camp Glacier Hollow offers a variety of traditional Resident overnight camps, day camp, and adventure trips for youth ages 7-17. In addition, older youth can be part of leaders in training or counselors in training to improve leadership and social skills and develop into successful, confident leaders. Dedicated to providing a safe, fun and outdoor environment, Y Camp is a place where youth learn about the environment, practice new skills like archery, kayaking, and fishing, develop positive values, have fun and make friends. Gavin, 12, attended Leaders in Training for the first time last summer. When asked about camp, his mom said, “It did wonders for his self-esteem – he would just be glowing every day he came home from camp.” Brock, nine, attended Y Day Camp for the first time. When asked about his experience, he gave it an enthusiastic thumbs up and said, “I loved it.”

Registration is now open for resident overnight camps, day camps, adventure trips, leaders in training (LITs), and counselors in training (CITs). Financial assistance is available, and applications are handled confidentially and discreetly. For youth ages 5-7, the YMCA offers Summer Vacation at the YMCA in Stevens Point.
