Rising Star Mill Annual Art Show and Sale returns
For the Gazette
NELSONVILLE – After two long years of “darkness” at the historic Rising Star Mill in Nelsonville, the Rising Star Mill Annual Art Show and Sale is once again on the calendar for May 28 and 29. Twenty-eight central Wisconsin artists will be showing and selling their works of art, both inside and in tents. This year’s show is dedicated to Bud Eagon, Dick Raatz, Brenda Gingles, and Brooke Newman, all former artists with the show. They’ve passed away since the last show in May, 2019.
Due to COVID, only seventeen artists will be appropriately spaced inside the mill building; the others will set up tents around the mill. The Village of Nelsonville board offered to close off 1st street by the Mill to allow space for tents and artists’ parking space, thus greatly enlarging the outdoor area for the event.
The Feed Sack refreshment room will again offer beverages, treats and BBQs in ‘take out’ containers, with outdoor seating space for relaxing while eating.
Everyone’s well-being and safety is foremost in the committee’s planning; CDC’s recommendations for indoor masking at the time of the event will be strongly encouraged.
