STEVENS POINT – Team Schierl Companies announced on July 8 that they will close one of their Stevens Point convenience stores, located at 708 Division Street.

The closure will be effective July 11.

“This site was excluded from our recent sale to Mountain Express Oil because of the pending redesign of the intersection and the substantial reduction in sales during COVID due to changes in traffic patterns. The combination of large area companies working remotely and area schools meeting online changed the business viability of the site over the last several years and the site has not recovered,” a company release stated.

“All associates have been reassigned to our other Stevens Point locations and no one has lost their job because of this difficult decision.

“Although no final decisions have been made, there are plans to commercially redevelop the site in early 2023.”

“We truly appreciate the many years of guest patronage, our associates dedication & support and look forward to serving the community again in 2023 with the new development at this site,” owner Fritz Schierl stated.
