Goerke Park’s Community Stadium closes for renovations

STEVENS POINT – Goerke Park’s Community Stadium closed to the public on July 21 for
renovations. Work on the stadium is expected to last into August.
“The major renovations taking place during this time include installation of a new synthetic turf surface and installation of a new video scoreboard,” a release from Stevens Point Director of Parks, Recreation, Forestry Dan Kremer stated.
“The track, turf field and restroom areas inside of Community Stadium will be closed to the public during this time, no access is available during the construction.
“After these initial improvements, community stadium will open for the fall athletic season.”
Additional improvements will occur this fall; more information will be made
available at that time.
