SPASH’s Moe becomes all-time leading assist leader in school history

STEVENS POINT — Stevens Point Area Senior High senior Tahlia Moe broke school history a few games into her senior season. Moe broke the girls’ basketball assist record with five assists against Neenah on Nov. 18. She surpassed Maggie Negaard’s 258 career assists with assist 259 in the loss to the Rockets.

Moe is a four-year starter in her high school career at SPASH. She played in 24 games as a freshman, dishing 60 assists throughout the season. Her sophomore season in 2020-21 showed improvement in all aspects of her game, including her assist numbers. Moe was credited with 79 assists, bringing her total to 139 assists after two seasons. The now senior had impressive rebounding numbers for a guard as well. She grabbed 170 rebounds in her first two years.
She was finally in reach of the record after her junior season. Her third year in the program came with a career-high in assists, leading the team by 34. To start her senior season, Moe had seven assists in her first game and five assists in her second, surpassing the record by one. She is a pure basketball guard by giving her teammates opportunities to score points.
