PORTAGE COUNTY – The Portage County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a death in the town of Linwood.

On Jan. 15, shortly before 2:30 a.m., the Portage County Sheriff’s Department received a call regarding a “possible crash” near 1600 Robin Ln.

“The caller reported a vehicle was partially submerged in a pond on the property. Sheriff’s deputies
arrived and determined the single occupant of the vehicle was deceased,” a Portage County Sheriff’s release stated.
“Initial investigation indicates the vehicle had been submerged in the pond for several days and may have been driven into the pond intentionally.”

The investigation is ongoing and the death is not considered suspicious.

The deceased individual was later identified as Vince Kluck, 57, from the town of Linwood.

The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Rudolph Fire Department, Rudolph EMS, Stevens Point Fire
Department, Plover Fire Department, Portage County Ambulance, and the Portage County
Medical Examiner.
