STEVENS POINT – The Portage County Historical Society (PCHS) and local historian Jen Brilowski have teamed up for a special presentation on Stevens Point “love stories.”

Brilowski hosts the “Point of the Past” Facebook page and has given tours of Forest Cemetery for PCHS.

The event will be held on Feb. 13 at the Rose House on Clark Street in Stevens Point – once one of Stevens Point’s favorite romantic date night spots known as the Hot Fish Shop.

“Attendees of this talk will hear heartwarming, and sometimes tragic or even deadly, stories about the love between Portage County residents and love for the city itself,” a PCHS release stated.

“It’s amazing how many trysts and affairs became newsworthy events,” added PCHS Executive Director

John Harry.

Valentine’s Day-themed cocktails and pizza will be available for purchase starting at 6 p.m., with the

presentation starting at 6:30 p.m.

This free event is part of the Talking Points Historical Education Programming Series.
