Nicolet National Bank Senior Spotlight: Bennett Eckendorf, Pacelli basketball

Bennett Eckendorf is one of only two seniors on the Pacelli boys’ basketball team.
The Cardinals are currently undefeated in conference play, sitting atop the CWC-South at 10-0.
Eckendorf is a multi-sport athlete who also plays both ways on the football field. Eckendorf plays tennis in the spring as well.
Finishing with nine rushing touchdowns this season, Bennett also had a pick-six and was third on the team in total tackles.

When did you begin playing basketball?
“I began playing organized basketball for Point Hoops in fourth grade, but I played YMCA ball starting in second grade. Even before that, I was shooting hoops with my dad at the Sentry gym.”

What has been the highlight of your high school sports career?
“The highlight of my sports career was scoring my first touchdown ever in my first year of football ever my junior year.”

What are your college plans?
“I’ll be attending UW La Crosse in the fall.”

What are you most looking forward to here in 2023?
“I’m looking forward to the basketball playoffs as well as the upcoming tennis season.”

If you won the lottery, what would be the first thing you spend money on?
“I would buy a nice car and then save the rest.”

If you could only listen to one musician for the rest of your life, who would you choose?
“It’s tough, but I would say, J Cole. He was one of the first artists I ever listened to, and I’ve always enjoyed his music.”

What are your favorite hobbies outside of sports?
“I like to lift, hang out with my friends and fish.”

Who would you say has had the most impact on your life so far?
“I would say my brothers have had the biggest impact on my life because they’ve always been great role models and kept me on the right track in life.”
