Nicolet National Bank Senior Spotlight: Sydnee Schulist, Amherst basketball

A 62-31 WIAA Regional loss to Xavier ended Amherst’s season. 

Brandon Trzebiatowski’s squad finished 9-16 (5-9) this season. 

Sydnee Schulist is a three-year starter in the program and made an immediate impact on the team during her sophomore year. She set her career high in points during her senior season. Here is more on the Amherst senior. 

When did you begin playing basketball?

“I started playing basketball when I was in 4th grade.”

What other sports did you play growing up?

“Other sports that I have played throughout my life have been volleyball and softball.”

Do you have any siblings?

“I have two younger siblings, a sister named Calee and a brother named Colton.”

Do you have any pets?

“I have three pets, two dogs and one cat.”

What are your plans for after high school?

“After high school, I plan to go to college in Eau Claire for something in the medical field.”

What’s your favorite vacation you’ve ever been on?

“My favorite vacation I have ever been on was when I was 10 years old. My family and I went to Disney World in Florida. My favorite part was the warm weather and the Disney Princesses.”  

What would be your dream vacation?

“My dream vacation would be a cruise with my family.”

What’s your favorite type of music to listen to? Who are your favorite artists?

“My favorite music to listen to is country music. I don’t have a particular favorite artist.”

What’s your mindset heading into the playoffs, knowing that’ll be your last time on the court?“I am going to miss playing with all my friends. I have been playing with them for a long time and love them all so much. They are my best friends. Knowing this will be my last time on the court is hard for me to process, but I know I have to make the best of it.”
