Justin Michael Street

Justin Michael Street, age 40, our beloved son, brother, father, grandson, uncle, nephew,
and friend died at home March 25, 2023, after a long struggle with mental illness.
Justin was a beautiful soul with an all-inclusive heart. He loved to cook and danced to hip hop in
his kitchen as he created his specialty dishes all made with the most important ingredient of
all—love. He was a poet, a scholar, an artist, and a musician. Justin wielded a wicked wit
and delighted in wordplay, always flashing his cheesy grin when he dropped a pun.
Justin was born Sunday, July 18, 1982, in Rantoul, Illinois. He graduated from SPASH with
honors in 2000. A National Merit Scholar, Justin received a scholarship to the Lee Honors
College in Kalamazoo, Michigan where he studied Mathematics.
Justin spent many years pouring his passion for cooking into restaurants, most recently at
Habibi’s Gyro and Kabob House. He also enjoyed his work and friends at the Community
Thrift Store.
Those who will forever miss Justin include: Lynda Pilot and Marty Nellessen, Dan and Susie
Street, Gary Reichert, Ananda Rubenzer, Riella Rubenzer, Alex, Valerie, Liam, Isaac, and
Noah Street, Max, Victoriana, and Einar Reichert, Steven Fritz, Kevin Fritz, Susan Eron,
and grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held 6:00 p.m., Friday, April 7, 2023 at Boston Funeral Home

p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
A memorial in his name will be established at a later date.
