Amherst senior pitcher Wyatt Blaskowski got the first start of his senior season on the rubber on Apr. 3 vs. Weyauwega-Fremont and didn’t disappoint.

Blaskowski went the full seven innings, pitching a perfect game through 6 ⅓ innings on the road.

The Falcons’ ace struck out 13 batters en route to his no-hit performance and first win of the season on the mound.

The offense helped Blaskowski with run support early on, posting two runs in the top half of the first.

The Falcons’ 2-0 lead held until the Falcons’ half of the fourth inning.

Amherst added five more runs offensively in the fourth and fifth innings to lead 7-0 after five, while Blaskowski continued to deal on the mound.

One more run crossed the plate in the sixth to make it an 8-0 game.

Senior Matt Glodowski and junior TJ Brandl led the Falcons at the plate.

Glodowski roped two balls into the outfield that led to a double and a triple, and he also scored twice in the win.

Brandl went two-for-three at the dish, including a double, and drove in three runs.

On top of a no-hitter, Blaskowski contributed to the offense with one hit and one RBI.

Senior Aidan Jastromski and sophomore Noah Spoelstra combined for the two other RBIs.

Eight hits turned into eight total runs in the shutout win, improving Amherst’s record to 1-2 (1-0) this season.

The Falcons will play their first home game of the year vs. Bonduel on Monday, Apr. 10.
