Nicolet National Bank Senior Spotlight: Tim Sackmann, Pacelli baseball

Tim Sackmann will put on a Pacelli baseball uniform for the final time this spring before he suits up for the UW-Eau Claire baseball team.
Sackmann, a lifelong Brewers fan, was a two-sport athlete for his last two years of high school.
Here is more on the Pacelli senior catcher:
When did you begin playing baseball?
“I began playing baseball when I was four years old. I remember playing on my tee-ball team called the Brewers. I was so happy to be playing for my favorite MLB team.”
Did you play any other sports in high school or throughout your life?
“I played basketball for a few years and soccer during my junior and senior years of high school.”
What is the highlight of your high school career?
“The highlight of my high school career would be winning conference (baseball) my junior year with a 10-0 record.”
Do you have any siblings or pets?
“I am the oldest child in my family. I have one brother and one sister. My brother is in eighth grade and is playing baseball for his middle school team. My sister is a sophomore and likes to spend most of her time doing arts and crafts.”
If you had any advice for a young baseball player, what would it be?
“The best advice I would give to a young baseball player is that baseball is a game of failure, and you can’t get frustrated with yourself.”
Do you have a favorite baseball game you’ve attended?
“My favorite baseball game I have attended was a Wisconsin Woodchucks game where I was able to throw out the first pitch and be a batboy for a few innings.”
Do you have any goals for your senior season?
“Everybody’s goal is to make a playoff run, but my main goal for my senior season is to become a better ball player each and every day.”
What are your college plans?
“I am committed to playing baseball at UW-Eau Claire and I plan on majoring in material science and engineering.”
If you could move anywhere in the world, where would you choose?
“If I could move anywhere, I would move to Florida or Arizona because I enjoy the warmer weather and would be able to play baseball all year long.”
What went into your decision to commit to UW-Eau Claire?
“I was originally going to attend UW-Eau Claire for schooling. When I started talking to the coach about playing baseball and became aware that there was an opportunity for me to play, is when I committed to UW-Eau Claire. I am so excited because It has always been my dream to continue playing.”
