Sedlak recognized as industry leader

STEVENS POINT – Michelle Sedlak, regional director of sales & marketing at the Stevens Point Holiday Inn Hotel & Convention Center, was recently recognized by Hotel Management magazine as part of its inaugural “Forty Over 40” class.
“I’m incredibly honored and humbled to be recognized within my industry as part of this inaugural group. I’m grateful to everyone who has supported, taught, and encouraged me over the past 25 years in my career,” said Sedlak.
Hotel Management’s Forty Over 40 recognizes leaders working in the hotel field, including operations, management, ownership, technology, asset management, consulting, training and sales & marketing.
Hotel Management received over 115 nominations , with 40 professionals selected as recipients.
Sedlak was nominated by Roman Whitehair, regional VP of sales for Aimbridge Hospitality, the management company for the Stevens Point Holiday Inn Hotel & Convention Center.
“Michelle is a dynamic, committed, creative hospitality sales professional,” said Whitehair. “After working with Michelle closely and watching her develop not only a great team, but the way in which she directs and trains our clients, I would say that I have not seen a better profit-minded salesperson in my career.”
Sedlak has worked in the hospitality industry for over 25 years and has been the regional director of sales & marketing for the Stevens Point Holiday Inn Hotel & Convention Center since December 2010.
Prior to that she served as a director of sales for Radisson and StoneBridge Hotel Management in Denver, Colo.
In addition to her role at the Holiday Inn Hotel & Convention Center she is an active member of the Wisconsin Society of Association Executives, as well as serving on the Stevens Point Tourism Commission.
