STEVENS POINT – SPASH announced the hiring of Reid Gust as the new head wrestling coach on May 10. He replaces previous wrestling coach Rob King, who stepped down on Apr. 27.
Coach Gust brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the wrestling program.
He is a graduate of Stratford High School, where he competed in varsity wrestling and football.

“I’m extremely humbled by the opportunity to become the next head wrestling coach at SPASH. I look forward to developing strong relationships within the community and building a strong culture within the SPASH wrestling program,” Gust said.
Reid attended UW-Stevens Point, graduating with a degree in business administration in 2017.
Coach Gust began his wrestling coaching career in Stratford in 2014.
During his time at Stratford, he worked with various levels for three years, ending his time at the high school level as an assistant coach.
Currently, Coach Gust is a business teacher and an assistant on the SPASH football staff.
“Reid is an excellent educator in our district, and we are fortunate to have him as our head wrestling coach. He has done an outstanding job at each level that he has coached, and we are confident that he will continue his success as our wrestling coach,” SPASH Athletics Director David Hauser added.
