Nicolet National Bank Senior Spotlight: Andrew Van Order, Pacelli football

With the 2023 football season just getting underway, Pacelli senior Andrew Van Order is ready for year two of being under center for the Cardinals.

Besides football, Van Order plays basketball and baseball during the school year.

As an upperclassman, playing quarterback has many different responsibilities.

Besides being a leader on this year’s team, Van Order wants to do his best to form a bond with his teammates.

He said he wants to get to know some of the younger players because they have some incoming freshmen on the team. He hopes that can lead to chemistry on and off the field.

Even though Van Order has a taste of different sports and excels at all of them, he still holds football the closest.

“Definitely football,” he said when asked what sport he’d pick if he had to choose. “I’ve been playing since I was a really young kid, from flag football all the way to here. It’s just one sport I’m probably best at and love the most.”

Van Order is keeping expectations high as the season just kicks off, as is everyone on the team.

“They’re high as always,” he stated. “You have to take it one game at a time, you can’t be already thinking, ok, let’s get ready for playoffs when it’s not even close to starting.”

The Pacelli quarterback hasn’t even started his senior classes yet, so deciding his future is still in the works.

“I’ve had some thoughts, but I haven’t really got it down yet. I’m still thinking.”
