For the Gazette

The UW-Stevens Point women’s volleyball team is seeking community support for the Pointers on Sept. 26 as UW-Stevens Point travels to UW-Oshkosh for a vital WIAC (Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) matchup.

All fans attending the 7:00 p.m. match at Kolf Sports Center in Oshkosh will be admitted free of charge.

Both teams enter the 2023 season ranked in the top 20 nationally.

The teams are looking to break the Division III attendance record that night.

All UW-Stevens Point fans traveling to the match are encouraged to wear Pointers purple. In addition to free admission, UW-Oshkosh is offering free popcorn and a yet-to-be-determined giveaway.

The Pointers start the season in Virginia at the Captain’s Classic this weekend.

UW-Stevens Point plays two games (Randolph-Macon College and Christopher Newport University) on Friday, Sept. 1, before playing one on Saturday, Sept. 2.
